MRC-NIHR National Phenome Centre

The MRC-NIHR National Phenome Centre was established in 2012 to address the growing needs of population-scale research in molecular epidemiology and stratified medicine. The Centre specialises in the development and application of technologies and methods for both untargeted and targeted metabolite measurement from human biofluids, as well as the creation of innovative “big-data” handling tools and application of both established and novel bioinformatics approaches to clinical and epidemiological-scale data interrogation.

Imperial International Phenome Training Centre

The Imperial International Phenome Training Centre (IIPTC) was established by Imperial College London in association with the MRC-NIHR National Phenome Centre. It provides hands-on laboratory based training for metabolic phenotyping, covering data generation technologies (nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, chromatography and mass spectrometry) and data analysis for systems biology and stratified medicine applications. Through our diverse range of backgrounds and collaborations with clinicians, scientists and industry we aim to deliver knowledge and practical experience of state-of-the-art metabolic profiling and work towards delivering a new paradigm in personalised medicine and stratified health care.
